church pictures 035 1From Father Alexis

church pictures 041 1On Saturday, May 26, we had a very productive work day followed by Great Vespers in the new church.

church pictures 043 1Scott Daron wired up most of the lighting circuits, the breaker boxes have been wired and we are ready for the inspection needed to get our permament electrical hook-up.

church pictures 042 1Melanie Rentsch and Hannah Miller stained and varnished all of our windows.

church pictures 039 1Eleana Koen helped get the nave ready for vespers and salvaged a large amount of bricks from the scrap pile (with some help from Lucy Miller.)

Interior Colors

church pictures 012 1The colors in this photo will be used to guide our choices for interior paint. The colors shown here are traditional.

Mostly, this post is to introduce our newest contributor: Hello to Father Alexis. He has learned how to sign in, write a post, and upload photos. We're glad to have him contributing.

As well, this post introduces a new look. Photo thumbnails will be square (you can see that here). And, although that is probably not an issue with site viewers, clicking on a thumbnail (only) "may" lead to our newly reintroduced photo album.

church pictures 029Thanks to catechumen Brett Roberston who donated a digital camera to the church I am happy to be able to send regular photos to all of you so that you can see how the church is coming along. This new picture show Sub-deacon Timothy Eads with Lucy Miller in front of the entrance to the church. Above the doors there will be an icon of the transfiguration set into the brick frame prepared for it.
